Day – 01

Pick up from Cochin (Kochi) Airport / Railway Station and proceed to Kumarakom.

COCHIN TO KUMARAKOM 80 KMS = 2.30 HOURS

Beneath the back waters Kumarakom- KOTTAYAM is a vast network of rivers and canals which empty into the great expanse of water called the Vembanad Lake. This Lake, an enchanting picnic spot and a fast developing backwater tourism destination, provides boating, fishing and sightseeing experiences that are truly exhilarating. The Kumarakom Tourist village offers House Boat Cruises and nature entertainments.

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary: Located on the banks of the Vembanad Bird Sanctuary, an ornithologist’s paradise, is a favourite haunt of migratory birds like the Siberian stork, egret, darter heron and teal. Other common varieties like the woodpecker, skylark, crane, water hen and parrots can also be spotted. (SELF EXPENSE)

Here. A cruise along the Vembanad lake is the best way to experience the sanctuary.

Pathiramanal: (Sands of Midnight) This 10 acre Island on the backwater’s in home to many rare varities of migratory birds from different parts of the world. According to mythology a young Brahmin dived in to the vembanad Lake to perform his evening ablutions and the water made way for land to rise from below, the Island can be accessed only by boat.

Day – 02

Following the breakfast and Proceed to ALLEPPEY/ KUMARAKOM HOUSE BOAT......

Check in to the Houseboat at 12.00 Noon.

With the Arabian Sea in the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers criss-crossing it, Kumarakom/Alleppey is referred to as the Venice of the East by travelers from across the world. This backwater country is also home to diverse animal and bird life. House boat cruise through narrow canals- Pathiramanal Island – Virgin village-paddy fields-historical places - Temples - Snake boat – Coconut beer shop (Toddy shop) ---- R Block Islands - Kuttanad Village etc. Distance covered on each day will be 35 to 40 km on an average/day. Enjoy spectacular lush green paddy fields, where you may enjoy an unique nature, life style of village people and their activities like Coir roping, Toddy tapping etc. Meals served will be of typical Kerala cuisine.

Lunch: Boiled/Basmati Rice, vegetables, fish fry/curry, salads, pappad. Evening: Tea / coffee with snacks.
Dinner: Rice, chapathy, vegetable curries and chicken.
Break Fast: Bread, butter, jam, and eggs to order or Kerala style
(All meals will be provided in the House Boat.)

NB: 1.) 06.00 pm to 07.00 am- Boat will Anchored & it will be idle in the lake. (As per GOVT. Rule- Village people need to put the net in the lake for fishing). You may enjoy the splendid sunsets, Waxing moon lights, dreaming stars and of course the delicious foods cooked and served by us. [You are mostly invited to our kitchen in the House Boat, to learn and try the list of ingredients and instructions for making something, especially a traditional food dish of KERALA for the dinner or for the Breakfast. If you are satisfied; don’t forget to note down the recipe and try it in future.

NB: Terms and conditions for Houseboats
1. Check in time is after 12 noon and check out time is 9 AM.
2. A/C will be operated between 9 PM to 6 AM.
3. In case of A/C failure non A/C Houseboat tariff will be chargeable (less = Rs.500/- 4. Houseboats will be anchored by 17.30 hrs and there will not be any cruise till 07.00 Hrs due to Govt. Restrictions ( As per Govt.Rule – Village people need to put the net in the lake for fishing).
5. Normal menu is fixed.

Day – 03

Following the breakfast disembark from the Houseboat and proceed to Cochin

ALLEPPEY TO COCHIN 60 KMS (1 and half HR)

Check in at the hotel.

( The Rich and old spce city). The commercial town of Kerala, Kochi – a vibrant, lively city of palm green filled with interesting artifacts in every coner. The combination of main land Ernakulam is the business and tourist heart of Kerala.

Places to be visited:
Jewish Synagogue - ( Built in 1568 AD. Closed on Saturdays & Jewish Holidays)

Duch Palace – (Built in 1557 AD. Closed on Fridays & National Holidays)

St. Farancis Church ( Built by portuguese in 1503 AD)

Santa Cruz Cathedral.

Maritime Museum – INS Dronacharya fort Kochi ( Monday Holiday)

Chinese Fishing Nets ( The Chinese fishing nets that line the sea – front and exhibit a method of catching fishs, introduced by Chinese Traders.)

Day – 04

Following the breakfast, departure with lots of memories,Friendships and thousands of photographs.The cab will drop you at the COCHIN AIRPORT / RAILWAY STATION/BUS STAND to catch the FLIGHT/TRAIN/BUS.

1. Base category rooms are allotted for the stay at all destinations.
2. Check in / Check out time should be as per the hotel rules (12 Noon)
3. All transfers from one place to another will be done in the same vehicle. The entire local sight seeing and transfers will be done by the same cab. The driver will be your guide, local guardian and friend during the time of the package.
